We Shall Never See His Like Again Praises Be to God ã¢â‚¬â

The 3-Month South Africa Immersion team has spent their last six weeks in the remote desert village of Pomfret, South Africa, on the border of the Kalahari Desert. Equally they transition to their second customs, here are a few thoughts from team members about their time with the people of Pomfret:

Mandi McWirther (above): "Pomfret is a beautiful community. We take learned to slow down and enjoy not having running water and electricity. Over the past three weeks we have been served and have served in return. I have come to dear Pomfret and the people's sincerity very quickly; they maybe "cleaved," but we take learned that we are too. Nosotros have learned much from the people, probably more than we have taught them. They are filled with God'south joy and dear and information technology is very contagious."

Gwen Snow (above): "Life-changing! I will never turn on the tap or plow on the light without praising Jesus when the lite comes on or h2o comes out. I beloved the simple living."

Sara Hale (to a higher place): "My time in Pomfret has been across amazing. It is so axiomatic that God is working hither. I've enjoyed serving alongside the local ministries and learning what it ways to exist truly Kingdom minded. I have been challenged in many means (spiritually, mentally, emotionally—we're going on day 9 of no electricity and express running h2o), but through all of this, I'thousand learning to trust God more and more than, and I am growing closer to Him. Life changing! Live your Mission: It's almost People and Process, not Projects and Products."

Naomi Hills (above): "Pomfret is full of brokenness, sickness and injure. Nevertheless, it is the virtually beautiful place I've ever been. The people are caring and full of life. They don't observe worth in existence decorated or the amount of things they have. What they lack in material wealth they make upwardly for in the wealth of their lives and relationships. The people of Pomfret have touched my middle. Through Pomfret God has come and met me in the places where my eye needed to exist met."

Samantha Carkner (above): "What an amazing experience it was to witness a miracle! I had the opportunity to visit a mom and her newborn baby. The mother was not producing milk then the baby was just drinking water. Nosotros prayed over the mom and the baby for xv minutes. Then, right earlier my optics the mom began to produce milk. God was so present in that moment. He is a God who answers prayer. Praise Jesus!"

Mallory Henderson (in a higher place): "I came here completely anticipating a alter in my heart, simply I never imagined the modify would be so deep, so undeniable, so life altering. I wake up in the morning, walking outside and wait at a place that may lack in some areas but has mastered living beautifully, living happily, living fully in the now, and living with a dependence on God that I envy. I am learning more from the people of Pomfret than I could ever teach them—I am convinced that they understand something that I don't. They empathize that fellowship and community are crucial, they understand what it means to feel content—to focus on the things they do take, rather than the things they don't. These people are teaching me what truthful gratitude looks similar, and they are encouraging me daily into a deeper walk with Jesus. I will never forget these days; the days I spent chasing donkeys, gardening with the Mamas, walking with the children to school, listening to them sing and watching Christ push into fifty-fifty the darkest of Pomfret and our hearts, all for His celebrity and our practiced. There is no place I'd rather be."

Colleen (Coco) Kelly (in a higher place): "The kickoff give-and-take that comes to my heed when I think of my time in Pomfret is beauty. The big heaven that is always blue and full of bright starts every night, the colorful sunsets, the powerful voices of the people equally they sing their songs of praise and true smiles of children; all of information technology has me realize how large God is. Experiencing a community that at first glance looks like it has nothing and then coming to realize some of them are richer than anyone I've always met, has given me the gift of life that God has given us a whole new meaning. I've learned then much virtually the brokenness of myself and the social club I was raised in and pray with sincerity for all the people back dwelling in that society that their optics might be opened to the truth that I have recently discovered. This feel has passed my expectations in every way possible; it has cleaved my heart as I see suffering, but has showed me that God truly is everywhere, even more nowadays in the lives of those that might seem similar they don't have much: I desire to thank EVERYONE who has fabricated this trip possible! Especially our crawly God!Ã'Æ'Æ’Ã'‚¢Ã'Æ'¢Ã'¢â‚¬Å¡Ã'‚¬Ã'Æ'‚Ã'‚

Lori Beth Dickey (in a higher place): "Pomfret has a stronger sense of community than anywhere I've ever been in America. Everyone knows and loves their neighbors, and God is in the heart of information technology all. I've learned that just because a community may be "broken" and "in need," it doesn't hateful they're suffering from spiritual poverty. From what I've seen, it's the brokenness that makes a community reliant on prayer and faith. God is here in Pomfret; I can experience Him. He has used Pomfret to break me and show me the spiritual poverty that I feel in my life. I thank God for this community. If information technology wasn't for Pomfret, I wouldn't be allowing God to alter me into the Lori Beth Dickey He wants me to be. 2 Chronicles 30:27 says, '...God heard them, for their prayer reached Heaven, His holy abode place." (NIV). God hears the prayers of the people of Pomfret, and is an always-present provider. God is good...All the time! All the time...God is good!"
